Junior Bassmasters on Ice
February 4th, 2001
| The first activity for the Junior Bassmasters,
in the new year, was an outing on the ice of a local gravel pit. As luck would have it, it turned out to be a nearly perfect day for ice fishing. Temperatures were moderating in the mid 30's, the wind was light, and the sun even came out from time to time. Some of the kids had been ice fishing before, but for most, it was a first. Everyone had a great time. The juniors caught everything from bluegills and crappies to largemouth bass. There was even a 6 pound plus giant brought through the hole in the ice. All fish were immediately released. The day was capped off by a cookout, on the ice, consisting of hot dogs, chips, pop and some home made cupcakes. |
