June 3, 2000
| Portville, NY - (June 3, 2000) The Southern Tier Junior Bassmasters
held their second successful fund-raiser of the season, behind the Fleet Bank. Junior members gathered, under sunny skies to wash cars, for $3.00 each, and raise money for the Junior Bassmaster general fund. This money will be used by the junior chapter to cover operating expenses, i.e. trophies, awards and prizes. The event started at 12:00 noon and ran until about 4:00 pm. Several kids stood by the side of the road, with signs in hand, and "lured" unsuspecting customers into the lot. All the kids worked hard and did a great job. Even with another car wash, just down the street, the event was a huge success. We would like to thank Mr. Ron Brewer for setting up the event. Also a special "thank you" to Mr. Don Hallock and Mr. Bob Elliott for donating pizza and pop for our kids, for lunch. Of course, without the kids and parents, who donated their time and efforts, this event would not have been possible. - Thanks to all!! |
