| Olean, NY - The Southern Tier Bassmasters hosted the
first CastingKids event for 2003, at the Olean Center Mall, in Olean, NY. Several members
of the junior chapter, as well as senior members were there to help with another
successful event. The event ran from 1-4 pm. and saw a steady flow of kids go through the
flipping, pitching and casting stations, to compete for a chance to move on to the NYSBCF finals event in Syracuse, on
March 1st, 2003. In the end, Tyler McClurg was the younger age group (7-10 yrs.) winner with 80 points, of a possible 150, and Cody Lampack in the older group (11-14 yrs.) with 140 points. Cody is a repeat winner, having advanced to the state finals, as well as the national semi-finals, in previous years. Congratulations to both winners and good luck in Syracuse. Southern Tier Bassmasters has had four New York State title winners in the past. We are proud of each and every kid that has competed in our CastingKids competitions. You are all winners!
