Ahrens wins at Conesus

On a day where fishing was tough, rain and wind created boat
control problems and only half the field of 29 anglers could
manage a limit, one guy beat all the elements.
First year member Norman Ahrens
began his STBM tournament season on a winning note as he came
up big
with a 5 fish limit
of bass weighing 16.48 pounds to take first place and $301.50
on Conesus Lake, June 26, 2008. He now has the early lead
in the 2008 Angler of the Year race with the 100 points that
goes with a first place.
Second place finisher Bob
Elliott’s limit weighed in at 14.99 pounds. He took
home $184.25 for his efforts. Third place and $108.88 went
to Bob Green with 14.88 pounds. Ted Barth took 4th place and
$75.38.
