McClurg comes up big at Cayuga

July 26, 2008 - On a day when the rain stayed away and the wind wouldn’t go away the fishing was tough and the winning weights were just ounces apart, Wade McClurg took first place in the Southern Tier Bassmaster’s second point’s tournament at Cayuga Lake, Saturday July 26, 2008. His five fish winning limit weighed 15.37 pounds and earned him $234.90.

The second place weight of 14.67 pounds was caught by Bob Green. That five fish limit paid $143.50. Finishing third was Ted Barth with a 14.45 pound 5 fish bag. He collected $84.83. Fourth place and $58.73 went to Ernie Brabon for his 13.91 pound limit.

Lunker for the tournament was a 5.2 pound largemouth bass caught by Ryan Benninger. He won $135 for his catch.
