Brock and Valle take first at Conesus

Vinny Brock and T.J. Valle topped the 51 team field Sunday July 5, 2009 in the Southern Tier Bassmaster’s annual Russ Louk Memorial Tournament on Conesus Lake. Their winning weight of 5 bass totaled 16.94 pounds giving them a check for $880. The tournament’s first 5 places were extremely close, only being separated by .86 of a pound.

Claiming second place with 16.82 pounds was the team of Rich Johnson and Mark Allen. They collected $495 for their efforts. Third place went to Daniel Hann and Daniel Hann II. Their limit of bass tipped the scales at 16.42 pounds.

Their limit also contained the tournament lunker, a 5.37 pound largemouth, helping boost their check to $550.

The team of Kirk McMullen and Ken Golub finished fourth with 16.16 pounds taking home $165. The fifth and final check of $110 went to Dan Warczok and Ron Boyce for their 16.08 pound limit.

This open tournament sponsored by Pelican Point Marina is held each year in memory of former member Russ Louk. His love of Conesus Lake was the motivator for the club to hold the tournament on this lake.

This tournament also is the location for the club’s grill raffle fundraiser. John Marshall was the lucky winner of this year’s grill.
