Noel Good Takes First on Honeoye

The Southern Tier Bassmasters held their third points tournament Saturday August 6, 2011 on Honeoye Lake.

Known primarily for it’s multitude of little fish and light weight limits,

Honeoye has yielded heavier weights in the last two years. Saturday’s tournament was no exception as tournament winner Noel Good brought a limit to the scales weighing 15.38 pounds that earned him $210.60.

Second place and $128.70 went to Jeff Kilbury with a limit that weighed 13.86 pounds. In third place with 13.01 pounds was Ken Christie. He took home $76.05 for his efforts. Joe Abt finished 4th winning $52.65 with a 12.97 pound limit.

Lunker for the tournament was a 6.14 pound largemouth that paid out $115 to Mark Bonk.

True to the lake’s reputation the average weight of the 115 bass caught was 2.01 pounds. The big difference 5 of the 115 weighed over 4 pounds. Hmmmmmmmmmm, must be some of those baby fish must be growing up.

AOY update has the early season leader Jeff Kilbury taking back the lead with 291, a mere 3 points over Joe Abt and Charlie Mackintosh who are both tied at 288 points. Not far behind with 284 is tournament winner Noel Good. With only one tournament to go, Silver Lake on September 17, 2011, nothing is a done deal. With any of these guys that are within striking distance, blink and your toast.
