Herbert crushes the field!

Seneca Falls, NY, June 26, 2021 - As members arrived at the Mud Lock launch at the extreme north end of Cayuga lake, they were greeted by a 20 MPH+ south wind, white caps and big waves.

Our tournament director gathered all the contestants and after a short meeting a vote was held to move the event into the adjacent canal system for safety concerns.

This posed some challanges for the group because few of them had ever fished there and knew nothing about it. All the boats got in the water and we were off by 6:20 am and were given until 2:30 pm to figure it out.

At the weigh-in, Jeff Herbert made it look like he knew exactly how the canal laid out. Jeff presented a 5-fish limit weighing in at 17.58 lbs, after some unfortunate fish care penalties. However, he still led 2nd place by nearly 5 lbs. Congratulations, Jeff!

Weighing 12.77 lbs for 2nd place was Bill Martz. Bill also had the tournament lunker of 4.78 lbs.In 3rd place was John Carey with 12.35 lbs.

Rounding out the top 4 was Wade McClurg with his limit of bass weighing in at 11.29 lbs.

Great job, everyone, making a great day out of a nasty situation.
