Federation
News
At its December meeting the NY Federation
is looking into several changes in an effort to increase participation.
All clubs were asked to return to the January meeting with
feedback from their members in order to give the state some
direction.
Several issues that were given a “yes” form those
STBM members at our own meeting were:
Go to a pro-am format with separate pay pots; use a 7/3 boater/non-boater
ratio for the divisional team; don’t change the format
of the CTC; guarantee the boater’s boat when he brings
a non-boater to a tourney; keep the points tourneys at four
(no increase or decrease); either expand the off limits to
at least one more day or eliminate it all together; and draw
the lakes at random (don’t try to pick them when good
bags are likely (does such a thing exist?). Also, do not let
boaters go out alone if there is a shortage of non-boaters,
and, lastly, take a look at regionalizing the state for tourneys.
The next meeting will be held
at the Olean Perkins Family Restaurant on Wednesday, January
9, 2008 at 7 PM. |
