Participation
and Membership
A survey was emailed to members asking
for feedback regarding a new club participation concept. After
minimal feedback it was decided to again ask members for their
thoughts on another idea. Would they support giving a member
credit for two functions if he were to secure a $200 sponsor?
The concept is to reward those who get sponsors, which, in
turn, helps with our club’s tournament payouts.
Also, tournament director Bill Melick is polling the tourney
committee to see if there is an interest in making our last
tournament a 1 ½ points factor tourney. In other words,
the winner gets 150 points instead of 100. Second place gets
148 rather than 99, 146 instead of 98, etc. The concept is
to increase participation, which traditionally slips at the
last points tourney.
2010 Banquet Coming
Soon
The 2010 banquet is set for February 6 at the Olean Library
Restaurant in Olean, which again will feature a fantastic
Chinese auction. Reservations are required for the banquet
and can be found on our website.
Anyone wanting to donate items for the auction should contact
Wade and Sue McClurg ahead of time so they can better plan
the auction set up.
Sponsorships
President Bob Green has emailed members a copy of the 2010
sponsorship brochure. This can be printed and shown to potential
businesses who may be interested in being a club sponsors.
Last year was an off year of the club as we had fewer sponsors
than in previous years. No doubt, the sluggish economy played
a factor, but we know there are potential sponsors out there.
Members are asked to actively seek sponsors and are reminded
that sponsorship monies (either $100 or $200) go into our
tournament payout pool. So, these dollars go directly back
to our members. If you have any questions or need more information
please contact President Bob Green.
