The
regular monthly meeting was held on May 9, 2007, at the Bolivar
Country Club in Bolivar, NY.
New Meeting
Site in June
As discussed in April
we have looked for another meeting site, something more centralized
so that more members can attend meetings. We have such a unique
club since our membership is so widely scattered and meeting
attendance is dwindling. With that in mind, our next meeting
(June) will be held in Olean at the Perkins Family Restaurant
on West State Street at 7:00 PM.
Junior
Club News
The Juniors now have 25 members and
invite more to apply. Membership is easy; just check the website
for details.
The next meeting for the Juniors will be held at the first
Shoreline Trail Tournament on June 27 at Bedow’s Pond.
The Juniors are considering another Casting Kids Competition
on June 9th.
New Club Tournament Shirts
Don Hallock got prices from the Sports
Locker in Olean regarding embroidery and lettering costs for
club shirts. There is a set-up fee for the embroidering that
the club will pick up. However, before we do that we need
to find out from our members if they are interested. Members
are asked to contact Don Hallock if interested in a high-quality
tournament shirt with our club logo (from our website) and
your name embroidered on it. The cost will depend on the number
of orders but should be in the $60 range.
Raffle
Tickets Ready For Sale
Our annual grill raffle will be held
after the Conesus Open on July 7th. This is our biggest fund
raiser of the year so were hoping members can help sell tickets.
Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and can be picked up easily.
Just contact Noel Good, Ted Barth or Tom Spencer and they’ll
be glad to hook you up.
Federation News
You can now register online for federation
tournaments; the DEC will post new regulations relating to
the VHS virus and its affect on tournament fishermen; NY received
a $1000 grant from BASS for habitat improvement and BASS is
looking for volunteers for the Erie and Champlain tournaments.
Regarding tournaments: each club can still bring only one
team to the CTC; entry fee for the CTC is $360 per team; only
eight NY teams registered for the Federation Nation Team Qualifier.
Fishlines will post the findings from the club survey that
was on the federation website. Many of the tourney fishermen’s
“likes and dislikes” will be listed as well as
a new “participation” award for those who fish
all four points tourneys but do not qualify for the state
team. However, you must attend the annual banquet to win.
PLAY IT SAFE
AND GOOD FISHING !!!!!
The next meeting will be held
at the Olean Perkins Family Restaurant on Wednesday, June
13, 2007 at 7 PM.
