The
regular monthly meeting was held on September 10, 2008, at
Perkins Family Restaurant in Olean, NY.
RAFFLE
TICKETS ALERT!!!
Members are reminded that we have one big fund raiser this
year – our annual grill raffle. The raffle will be held
at the October 4 Honeoye Open and members are strongly encouraged
to sell tickets Noel Good has been kind enough to print tickets
once again and has some available if you need them. Members
who wish may give their tickets/money to any club officer
at the Erie points tournament
Junior
Club News
The juniors wish to thank all those who helped out at their
tournaments this year - especially the pond owners who so
generously donated their ponds as tournament sites for the
Shoreline Trail. These people will be recognized at our annual
banquet in February.
The juniors are discussing a venue for another Casting Kids
competition this fall. Possibilities are the YMCA, a Pee Wee
football game and at a Fun Night at a local high school.
Club
Function Requirement
Members are reminded that they are
required to participate in five club functions
per year. A function is a club meeting, points/open
tournament, annual banquet or helping out at a junior event.
There are two more meetings and three tournaments left for
members to pick up a function, so be sure to meet your club
obligation.
Tournament
News
The state is running low on funds and
one casualty is our state parks. So far, the docks and bathroom
facilities at Silver Lake are gone. The docks will also be
removed at Conesus Lake’s state site - prior to our
Conesus Open tournament. At print time, the Honeoye Open should
not be affected by the closures.
We have two open tournaments coming
up and members are encouraged to get the word out to other
fishermen – veterans as well as those new to the tournament
scene. STBM runs great open tourneys and the team concept
lets you fish with a buddy.
